2503_[1] PUBLIC PARTICIPATION SESSION
Queries were raised during the public participation session regarding the location of the no entry signs near the one way road on the triangle where the Cameley road meets the A37. Other queries raised included painting the finger post signs on the Cameley village green.
MEETING ADMIN
2503_[2] Apologies for Absence
Apologies for absence were received from Cllrs Carl Bubb and Jon Elford.
2503_[3] Declaration of Interest
There were no declarations of disclosable pecuniary or personal interests.
2503_[4] Confirmation of Minutes
RESOLVED: The Parish Council meeting minutes of Tuesday 11th February 2025 were confirmed as an accurate record and signed by Chairman.
REPORTS
2503_[5] Chairman’s Report
- The Chairman expressed thanks to local residents for participating in the recent BANES consultation regarding bus stop proposals.
- The Chairman reported on apologies for absence from District Councillor David Wood and expressed the best wishes for a speedy recovery on behalf of the Parish Council.
2503_[6] Clerk’s Report
- A report was received from the Clerk regarding:
- New council membership
- NPPF training – The Impact of Reforms
- Noted: correspondence shared with council members listed in the appendix.
2503_[7] Members Reports, Responsibilities and Meetings Attended
- Noted: The Clerk had written to Somer Valley Links with a consultation response letter from the Parish Council regarding proposals to remove the bus laybys. (See copy in appendix)
2503_[8] Village Hall and Open Spaces Reports
- A report was received on any updates regarding the village hall and open spaces
- The Clerk had fitted a combination latch lock to the village hall entrance door to help hirers avoid members of the public entering without permission during private events
- The School had given permission for the school car park to be used by hirers of the village hall or sports team visitors during weekends to reduce on street parking during busy periods
- Reviewed: The council reviewed the Village Hall Fire Safety Inspection plan of action.
- Replacement of the ride on lawn mower was reviewed. The Clerk highlighted the issues reported with the mower. The council requested the Clerk to continue to maintain and operate the current mower and to arrange an emergency council meeting in the event that the mower was to break down.
- The council requested the Clerk to purchase a Microwave with a budget of up to £100 for the village hall.
2503_[9] FINANCE
Payments and Income (see appendix 2025-03 Finance Reports)
- RESOLVED: payments to approve as listed in finance reports.
- Noted: finance reports including payments, income and bank reconciliation
- RESOLVED: To enter a confidential session to review HR matters
- RESOLVED: To confirm staff salary scale increment to SCP25 in April 2025 as outlined in the contract of employment

There were no outstanding consultation requests at the time of agenda publication
