Children at Cameley School inspired by local artists

Local artists are loaning some of their original works to Cameley school to inspire children in cross curricular projects. The Cam Valley Arts Trail Group are lending a variety of art forms: paintings, glass works, textiles, ceramics, braiding, and carvings, so that children in the Cam Valley community can get up close and personal with a piece of artwork and explore the ideas that come from the piece in their poems, stories, dance, and own artwork. The works produced by the children will be displayed alongside the artists’ original work at the forthcoming Cam Valley Arts Trail weekend on the 5th and 6th of November in the villages of: Camerton, Cameley, Paulton, High Littleton, and Farrington Gurney. One of the Cam Valley Arts Trail Group’s aims is to make art accessible to everyone in the community. All are encouraged to come and visit the Trail this year. Open both days 11am-5pm. If you are interested in purchasing artwork remember your cash or cheque book as most artists are unable to take card payments. There are also free demonstrations and workshops that are open to all ages and abilities. Refreshments available and it is free to Enter. Full colour brochures are available at many outlets in October and to find out more visit the Cam Valley Arts Trail website.
