We have some further updates for you following the Chew Valley Area Forum meeting on 21 September. We understand that WECA called a meeting for parishes about buses that evening meaning that many of you were unable to attend. Please do catch up with it on our YouTube Channel.
Local Plan Launch Document Consultation
This started today and will run until 15 November 2022. Find out more and take part.
The council is also holding a webinar to launch the Local Plan and discuss the content of the launch document. This will be on 18 October 2022, between 12.30pm to 1.30pm. Further details will be added to the web page above shortly.
Joint Health & Wellbeing Strategy Consultation
This opened on 29 September and will run until 31 October 2022. Find out more and take part.
Centre for Sustainable Energy Workshop – Temple Cloud and Hinton Blewett, 13 October, 6.30pm
The Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE), has been holding free energy workshops in selected areas to discuss the potential to generate more of our energy from renewable sources. There is one taking place for Temple Cloud and Hinton Blewett on 13 October from 6.30pm at Temple Cloud Village Hall (poster attached). The workshops are aimed at anyone who lives or works in the areas and all are welcome. The workshop will also include information on what you can do to lower your fuel bills. Green Chew Films
A new series of four short films has been produced by Green Chew for anyone wanting to invest in energy efficiency at home. They are available on YouTube (so there may be ads at the start of them!) and enable you to hear from local residents on how they have reduced carbon emissions through installing different technologies:
Tree Giveaway
The Council is giving away trees again for the tree planting season. You can order online for collection from Midsomer Norton or Bath – they sell out quickly!
- Midsomer Norton – trees will be available to order from 1700 on Friday 7 October. Collect from Midsomer Norton on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 October.
- Bath – trees will be available to order from 1700 on Friday 4 November. Collect from Bath on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 November.
Trees will be on sale for 7 days and available to order on a first come first served basis. Find out more and order.
We also understand that Chew Valley Plants Trees have whips available. Contact them to find out more.
Avon and Somerset Police Independent Advisory Group
The Bath and North East Somerset Independent Advisory Group is seeking new people to join them. They are particularly keen to involve young people, people from seldom heard communities, those with protected characteristics as covered by the Equality Act 2000 and people living outside Bath. A notice is attached with further information and a link to a contact email if you want to find out more or express interest.
