Local Council Tax Support Scheme (LCTS)

The Local Council Tax Support (LCTS) scheme exists to help households on a lower income with the cost of their Council Tax. Depending on the amount of money they have coming in, Council Tax Support could reduce bills by up to 90%. The Council is proposing to make changes to the LCTS scheme for claimants who receive Universal Credit and if agreed , they will take effect from April 2024. The changes will only affect households who receive Universal Credit.
The current rules will apply for all other households who are receiving Council Tax Support.
